Shop Girls Day

Inaugural Exhibition

October -December 2020

New Exhibition

Date TBD

Join us for an unforgettable event as local merchants craft couture dresses presented in a runway style exhibit.  Historically, Shop Girls Day originated in the early 1900s.  Local merchant shop girls wore custom designed dresses uniquely fashioned to advertise the goods and services provided by each business.  Two extraordinary dresses, circa 1900, were professionally photographed and these archived images have become the museum's inspiration for one of our special exhibits and event.

Audie Murphy Day

June 9-10, 2023

Each year, the city of Farmersville celebrates the life

of its' hometown hero, Lt. Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier of WWII and honors local Veterans

and active military personnel.

The Farmersville Heritage Museum proudly supports this event with extensive exhibits highlighting the life of Lt. Audie Murphy and special WWII exhibits to honor all those who serve our nation.

Join us this year for the debut of the Sister City Pact Exhibition.  The exhibit includes the Sister Signing Ceremony highlights and the unveiling of a WWII tank wheel, a gift from our Sister City-Holtzwihr, France.  This wheel is from the actual tank that Lt. Audie Murphy stood on while holding off the German soldiers outside of the village of Holtzwihr.  Lt. Audie Murphy received the Medal of Honor for this act of valor.  Together, we will remember.
